Pricing tiers and early-bird prices
Set prices that step up on dates you choose; the checkout rolls over on its own.
Updated 20 Oct 2026
A category has one price, or a ladder of pricing tiers: an early-bird price until one date, a standard price until the next, a late price after that.
How tiers work
- Add as many tiers as you like to a category. Each tier has a price and an end date.
- The checkout always charges the tier in effect at the moment of payment. When a tier's end date passes, the next one takes over automatically; there is nothing to switch on race week.
- The entry page shows the current price, the deadline for it and the saving against the next tier, so entrants see why entering now is worth it.
- The last tier has no end date and runs until the category closes.
What is stored on an entry
Every entry records the price it was actually charged, and the list price when that differed. Changing a tier later never changes what an existing entry shows, and a refund always refers to the amount that was paid. The same applies if you add an entry by hand at a custom amount.
Tips
- Dates are wall-clock dates for the event, not your browser's time zone: a tier ending on the 1st ends at midnight at the end of the 1st.
- Capacity is per category, not per tier. If you want only a limited number of early-bird places, use a separate early-bird category with its own capacity instead.
