Embedding on your website
Build a countdown, entry form, schedule or results widget and drop it into your own site with a single copy-and-paste.
A widget is a piece of your event that lives on your own website: a countdown in the header,
the entry form on your race page, the schedule, your sponsors, the results. Each one is managed from
the RaceLinq dashboard and placed on your site with a single <script> line.
Building a widget
From the event, add a widget and pick its type. The design builder lets you choose a layout, adjust the content and colours, and preview it at desktop and phone widths. Content comes from the event by default (dates, prices, places left) and shows a "From event" chip; you can override any field for this widget alone, and Reset puts it back.
You can have several widgets of the same type with different designs: a bold hero countdown on the home page and a compact one in the sidebar. Give each a human name ("Homepage hero", "Sidebar strip") so you can tell them apart later.
Or describe what you want and let the AI builder compose a first version.
Placing it on your site
Open the widget's Embed popover and copy the snippet. It looks like this:
<script src="https://…/c/homepage-hero-abc123" async></script>
Paste it where the widget should appear: an HTML block in WordPress, Squarespace or Wix, or the page template on a hand-built site. The widget renders in place, takes your site's font, and updates itself whenever you change it in the dashboard; there is nothing to re-paste.
Host domains
Before a widget is published it is bound to the domains allowed to show it, such as
harbourrunners.org. The first time it loads on a listed domain, that domain is verified; a copy of
the snippet on any other site shows nothing. Domains are managed in the same Embed popover.
An organisation can register any number of host domains.
Styling
Widgets take your branding through the cascade described in Branding and colours, and a widget can override colours of its own. A widget also accepts custom CSS for anything the controls do not cover.
