Getting started with RaceLinq
From signing up to your first live event, in five steps.
RaceLinq takes entries and payments for your races, gives each event a page and a checkout in your colours, and publishes your results. This guide walks through the first afternoon: setting up your organisation, taking payments, creating an event and sharing it.
1. Create your account and organisation
Sign up with your email address. There is no card to enter. Signing in uses a code sent to your email, so there is no password to remember.
The first thing you create is an organisation: the club, company or committee that puts on the races. Everything else hangs off it: your events, your branding and your payouts. You can belong to more than one organisation and switch between them from the account card in the sidebar.
2. Connect payments
Entry fees are paid straight into your own Stripe account, so before you can take a paid entry you connect one. Stripe asks for the details any payment provider needs (who you are, where to pay out to) and tells RaceLinq when the account is ready. You can create the account during the connection if you don't already have one.
You receive the entry price you set, in full. The entrant pays a booking fee on top at checkout which covers RaceLinq's fee and card processing. The details are in Booking fees and payouts.
3. Set your branding
On the Branding page, upload your logo and choose your colours and corner style. The entry page, the event page, the participant portal and every email follow from these four colours, so it is worth doing once before you create an event. See Branding and colours.
4. Create your first event
An event is a date, a place and one or more categories: the 10K, the half, the kids' race. Each category has its own distance, date and start time, price and capacity. Add a waiver or terms if you need entrants to agree to them. See Creating an event.
5. Share it
Every event has a registration page ready to share, and you can switch on a full event page with the course details, categories and a countdown. If your club already has a website, the entry form and countdown embed there with a single copy-and-paste. See Event pages and Embedding on your website.
Entries and payments land in your dashboard as they arrive. Every entrant gets a confirmation email and a participant portal where they manage their own details.
